NEWTON GROVE -- Thelma R. Thornton, 97, died Monday.
The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Randall's Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Newton Grove with the Rev. Horace Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Royal Thornton; a son; and a granddaughter.
She is survived by five sons; two daughters; 20 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Lester "Pete" and Evelyn Bridges, 53 Creekside Drive, Newton Grove.
