MARY C. VINSON

Mary Corbett Vinson, 81, went to be with her Lord Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Mary was born in Wayne County to the late Thomas Franklin and Lottie Ander-son Corbett and was married to the late Hallie Carlton Vinson. She was a retired seamstress at O'Berry Center and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her passions in life were living for the Lord, her family, flowers and birds.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Mary Ann Vinson and Douglas Carson Vinson.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery with Minister Jonathan B. Edwards Sr. officiating.

Mrs. Vinson is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Carlton and Connie Vinson of Goldsboro and Frankie and Patsy Vinson of Pikeville; daughter and son-in-law, Ronnie and Teresa Jones of Goldsboro; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and special friends, Hilda Royal and Emma Jane Holland.

The family will be receiving friends immediately following the funeral service on Tuesday evening and at other times will be at the home of her daughter, Teresa Jones, 368 Providence Church Road, Goldsboro.
