The Rev. Emma Jean McDuffie Thompson, affectionately known by her family and friends as "Jean or Shebe," 310 Bright St., Goldsboro, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at her residence.

Her husband, Mr. Clifton Earl Thompson Sr., preceded her in death in the year of 2006.

She leaves to cherish her memory; one daughter, Fran McDuffie of Goldsboro; one granddaughter, Aleda M. White and husband, Jeremy, of Dudley; one great-grandson, Jayvon M. White of Dudley; one sister, Nina Mae Durham of Jamaica, N.Y.; one brother, Robert Lee McDuffie and wife, Madlene, of Philadelphia, Pa.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her extended family, Mr. Robert Claudia Kadis and children of Raleigh; Wendy Brown of Goldsboro; her church family; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, at 1 p.m. from the Pentecostal Holy Church, 600 East Pine Street, Goldsboro, with Elder Willie E. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park North Cemetery, 1191 Old Grantham Road, Goldsboro.

A viewing will be conducted Sunday, May 11 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro.

At other times, the family will receive friends and friends at the home of the Rev. Emma McDuffie Thompson at 310 Bright Street.
