GREENVILLE -- Doris Toler Woodard Thompson, 85, formerly of Raleigh, and a retired account with the state, died Wednesday morning in Pitt Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept. 2, 1922, in Johnston County to the late Rufus Levi and Neta Jane Toler Woodard, she was the widow of Kenneth Aldridge Thompson and was preceded in death by brothers, Forest Woodard, Ralph Woodard and Raymond Woodard, and a sister, Marguerite Evans.

She was a member of St. John's Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will follow in the Hephzibah Church Cemetery.

Surviving are her sister, LaVee Davis of Ayden; stepson, Russell Thompson and wife, Jean, of New Port Richey, Fla.; stepdaughter, Shirley Thompson Holland and husband, Ed, of Hampstead; four step-grandchildren; and five step-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
