Irmgard J. "Kathy" Shauermann Friedel, 79, died Thursday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Kathy was born in Frankfurt, Germany to the late August Shauermann and Francis Rumbler Shauermann. She was married to the late Russell William Friedel.
Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Willow Dale Cemetery.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Connie B. Hancy and husband, Danny, of Atlanta, Ga.; her son, Alexander B. Friedel and wife, Sandy, of Kinston; and one grandson, Matthew Friedel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, P.O. Box 821, Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.
The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home one hour prior to the graveside service.
