Martha Ellen Turnage Harrison, 78, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 11, 2008, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Martha was born in Greene County on Aug. 14, 1929, to the late Walter Scott Turnage and Lillie Mae Price Turnage. She was married to the late Harry Lee Harrison. Martha had worked as a seamstress for many years in Goldsboro. She got great pleasure in volunteering with WAGES and Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The funeral will be held Monday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Revs. Ira Williford and R.N. Williford officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in La Grange.

A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Martha leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Cary Lee "Tom" Harrison and wife, Diane, Harry Kenneth Harri-son and wife, Cathy, Rocky Lynn Harrison and wife, Mary, and Greg Harrison and wife, Tammie, all of Goldsboro; her sisters, Helen T. Lane of Fort Worth, Texas, Yvonne Craven of McClenny, Fla., and Bonnie Lou Shook of McClenny, Fla.; her brother, Carl Turnage of New Albany, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Barbara Jean Aultman, Lillie Ann Mooring and Kaye Rackley; her sisters, Christine T. Lane and Elizabeth Jones; and her brothers, Lee Turnage, Alton Turnage, Floyd Turnage, Jason Turnage, Douglas Turnage, Morris Turnage and Martin Turnage.

The family will receive friends Monday after the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Ken and Cathy Harrison, 200 N. Cottonwood Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
