BOB WOOTEN

March 24, 1933-March 23, 2008

Robert "Bob" Yelverton Wooten, 74, of 2971 Highway 111 North, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Bob was born in Wayne County to the late James A. Wooten and Ellen Herring Wooten. He was a retired radio executive with radio stations WGBR and WFMC in Goldsboro. Bob was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College and served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Pikeville Cemetery with the Rev. Willard Hardison officiating.

Bob is survived by his wife, Edna Jones Wooten; his daughter, Donna W. Mooring of Goldsboro; his son, Robert F. Wooten of the home; his sister, Marie Peele of Pikeville; his brothers, James Edward Wooten of Goldsboro, John W. Wooten of Pikeville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in Bob's memory to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1132, Fairfax, Va. 22038-1132.

The family will receive friends at his home and immediately following the graveside service.

Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
