MARY BROOKS JONES

April 6, 1918-March 14, 2008

Mary Brooks Jones, 89, of 1278 Old Cornwallis Road, Princeton, entered into her eternal rest March 14, 2008. She was born April 6, 1918 and was the daughter of the late Jerry Daniel and Margie Brooks. She was married to the late Rev. Clyde Wesley Jones for 63 years. Mrs. Jones was also preceded in death by a daughter Lillian J. Hollowell.

She was a member of the Princeton Church of God. Mrs. Jones stood faithfully by her husband's side as he pastored in the Church of God denomination for 29 years. They pastored in the Princeton Church of God for a total of 13 years. She also served as Sunday school teacher there for many years. She was very dedicated to her church ministries.

The home-going service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the Princeton Church of God, 6085 US Hwy. 70 E., Princeton with Pastor Rod Trusty, Dr. Gene D. Rice and Preacher Dann Patrick officiating. The committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday morning at the Princeton Cemetery.

Mrs. Jones is survived by sons and daughters-in-law: Kenneth "Deacon" Jones and wife, Faye, of Princeton, Steve Wesley Jones and wife, Paula, of Goldsboro; Daughters and sons-in-law Frances Roberts and husband, Ernest, of Hiddenite, Grace Pearce and husband, Frank, of Princeton; brother, Fred Brooks of Greensboro. In addition to her children she had 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters and adopted children; the Ceasar Pablo family.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 2:45 Sunday at Princeton Church of God and immediately after the funeral service.
