AUBREY W. AYCOCK

Aubrey Weil Aycock, 80, a resident of the Sterling House, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday.

Aubrey was born in Wayne County to the late Donald Jefferson Aycock and Mary Effie Kelly Aycock. For many years, he was the owner of the radio station WSMY in Burlington. Aubrey was a graduate of Goldsboro High School and an active member of Jefferson United Methodist Church. He had a great love for working in his yard. Upon returning to Goldsboro, Aubrey had worked for many years with PACC-10 Television in Goldsboro.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Jefferson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Aubrey is survived by his wife of 55 years, Christine Jackson Aycock; his sisters, Anne A. Cox of Goldsboro, Donna A. Rose and husband, Robert, of Ayden; three nieces and two nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jefferson United Methodist Church, 1100 N. Jefferson Ave., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Jefferson United Methodist Church.
