GLADYS MICKENS BREWER

Died Feb. 8, 2008

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Pastor Gladys Mickens Brewer, 83, of 404 W. Grantham St., slipped away to be with her Heavenly Fa-ther Friday morning at Wayne Me-morial Hos-pital. She was the pastor of New Saint Mary Church of Christ.

Her life and ministry will be celebrated in a glorious homegoing service noon Wednesday at Goldsboro-Raleigh Assem-bly Institute with Bishop Chester Aycock officiating. She will be laid to rest in Wayne Memorial Park.

Precious memories shall rest with her daughters, Olivia Whitfield, Herline Best, Inez Middleton, Elizabeth Grantham and Patricia Brewer, all of Goldsboro; sons, Charles Brewer of Hampton, Ga., Carl Brewer of Upper Marlboro, Md.; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2-4:30 p.m. Tuesday at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries. The family will receive friends during an inspirational wake 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the New St. Mary's Church of Christ, 111 Raynor St. The family will receive friends at other times at 301 S.
