MARY M. DONATI

RICHMOND HILL, Ga. -- Mary L'Vonne Martin Donati, formerly of Engelhard, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation Center, Richmond Hill.

Born Feb. 8, 1936, she was the oldest child of the late Aimar A. and Rose Nix Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert P. Donati; and a son, Albert Ray Donati. Mary was a graduate of Richmond Hill High School, Young Harris College and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Valdosta State University. She was a member of the former Engelhard United Methodist Church where she served as organist and was active in the United Methodist Women. She also served as organist at the Amity United Methodist Church at Lake Landing. She taught elementary school for many years and was a very accomplished singer and piano player. She was a loving, caring and generous person who never met a stranger.

Mary is survived by three children, Kevin Martin Donati, Tina Marie Carawan, Jocelyn Ann Aldridge and her husband, Tommy; three grandchildren, Aubrie Rose Donati, Christian Marie Planck, Michael Aaron Planck; a brother, Aimar V. Martin and wife, Beverly; two sisters, Rose Marie Donnelly and her husband, Dick, Betsy Wilson and her husband, Bob.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the family plot in Fulford Cemetery, Engelhard.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be sent to Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation Center, 127 Carter St., Richmond Hill, Ga. 31324.
