DUDLEY -- Landon Ray Best, 36-day-old infant son of Donna Maria Cartagena and Eric Ray Best, died Friday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive today from 5 until 7 p.m. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday in the Faison Cemetery in Faison. The Rev. Bill Cotton will officiate.
In addition to his parents, Baby Landon is also survived by a brother, Austin Lee Cartagena, of the home; a sister, Carissa Nicole Best of Mount Olive; his maternal grandparents, Tammy and Willie Cartagena of Dudley; paternal grandparents, Danny Ray and Patricia Ann Best of Faison; maternal great-grandparents, Donna and James Hoggard of Dudley and Anna Marie Melendez and Santos Cartagena of Puerto Rico; maternal great-great-grandmother, Bessie Justice of Dudley; paternal great-grandparents, Harold M. and Betty Jo Best of Faison and Nancy and Juan Vargas of Faison; and aunts and uncles, Christopher Cartagena of Dudley, Tracy Holloman and Natalie and Randy Holloman, all of Faison.
He was preceded in death by a baby brother, Bryson Ray Best, and an uncle, James Kevin Holloman.
Flowers are welcome; however the family would appreciate any donations be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
