Cecil Donald Morrison, 95, a former resident of the Pines, died on Thursday.

Cecil was born in Brownwood, Texas, on Sept. 4, 1912. He was the son of the late Charlie Dan Morrison and Ida McDonald Morrison and was married to the late Loree Hammond Morrison. Cecil served in the National Guard for 30 years and was a retired civil service employee. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.

Funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Harvin officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Ceme-tery.

Cecil is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rose M. and retired Lt. Col. Michael Cooper of Goldsboro; his sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Phyllis Morrison of San Francisco, Calif., Teddy and Linn Morrison of Las Cruces, N.M., and Gary Morrison of Albuquerque, N.M.; his sister, Ida Bell Morrison of Albuquerque, N.M.; his brother, Roy Morrison of Arlington, Texas; his grandchildren and grandchildren-in-law, David Cooper, Caroline and Eddie Hinson, Gregory and Mary Morrison, Stephanie and Ron Blessinger, Hiede and Doug Shanda, and Shane and Elizabeth Morrison; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Megan Cooper, Adam and Noah Hinson, Sophia and Madelyn Blessinger, and Gillian Morrison.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday in the church parlor at St. Luke United Methodist Church.
