AIKEN, S.C. -- Harry Eugene Coor, 73, died Wednesday.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Donnie Bates will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mr. Coor was born in Wayne County, N.C., a son of the late Charles Edmund and Annie Rose Coor. Before moving to Aiken in 2006, he was in the U.S. Air Force, an insurance executive with Industrial Risk Insurers, a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Charleston, S.C. He was a member of Woodside Country Club.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Julia Wheeler Coor; a son, Charles Byron Coor, Lawrenceville, Ga.; a daughter, Jocelyn C. Finnegan, Alexandria, Va.; four grandchildren, Hilary Coor, Chelsea Finnegan, Elliott Coor and Clayton Finnegan; two sisters, Katheryn Lewis, Greenville, N.C., Mary Elizabeth Morris, Bethel, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Drive, Columbia, S.C. 29210 or the Zelda Coor Scholarship Fund, c/o Louisburg College, Financial Office, 501 N. Main St., Louisburg, N.C. 27549.
