VIRGINIA H. COWARD
Virginia "Lee Lee" Lee Hightower Coward died on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at the Kitty Askins Center, following a brief illness. She was 93.
Mrs. Coward was born in Americus, Ga., on May 31, 1914.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Coward.
Mrs. Coward is survived by her son, Lee Coward and wife, Chris, of Goldsboro, and daughter, Lucy Bush Carter and husband, Marvin, of Charlotte; three granddaughters, Catherine Grimes, Mary Ann Tormey and Lee Bush; one grandson, Charles Bush; and five great-grandchildren, Thomas, John, Carmen, Ginny and Allison.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Goldsboro, on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends in McChesney Hall immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to WAGES, Meals on Wheels Program, 601 Royall Ave., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534 or First Presbyterian Church, Golds-boro.
