NELL PORTER WEEKS

July 15, 1924-Dec. 25, 2007

Nell Porter Weeks, 83, went to with her Lord on Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Nell was born in Wayne County to the late Marshall Porter and Queen Westbrook Porter. She was a retired telephone operator with Southern Bell Telephone Company. Nell was a faithful member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jimmy Whitfield and the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Nell is survived by her faithful husband of 65 years, Cleaford Earl Weeks Sr.; her son, Cleaford Earl Weeks Jr. and wife, Carolyn, of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Steve Weeks and wife, Amy, of Fayetteville, Rick Weeks and wife, Beverly, of Pikeville, Frank Weeks and wife, Jennifer, of Goldsboro, Jim Weeks and wife, Wendy, of Mount Olive; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Norva Smith of Garner and Jenny Cannady of Faison; and her brother, Carroll Porter of Grantham.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Edward Earl Weeks; her sister, Elva King; and her brother, Dan Porter.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534 or the charity of one's choice.

The family will receive friends Thursday at Seymour Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. and other times at her home, 2540 U.S. 70 West, Goldsboro.
