Nell Helen Durham, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Helene", 85, formerly of 810 Summit Road, Apt. A, died on Monday at SunBridge Nursing Home, Mount Olive, N.C.
Helene was one of five siblings in which all preceded her in death. Also, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Edward Durham.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at 1 p.m. from the New Saint John AME Church, 1307 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro, N.C. with Dr. Theresa Y. Holmes officiating. A viewing will be held, Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., from 1 to 7 p.m. A wake will be conducted from 6 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel with the family present to receive friends and other family members. Final disposition will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Goldsboro, N.C.
She leaves to mourn, five nieces, Barbara P. King, Pauline P. Peacock and Annie P. Williams, all of Goldsboro, N.C., Helen P. Adams of Greensboro, N.C. and Brenda A. Brown of Jacksonville, Fla.; one nephew, Frederick D. Peacock Jr. and wife, Bettye, of Goldsboro, N.C.; several great-nieces and nephews; her loving and supportive church family; other relatives and friends.
