GLENN E. BROWN

Glenn Edwin Brown, better known as "Scratch," after an extended illness, claimed his eternal peace and journeyed to his true home Monday. For those who knew him, Glenn, will be remembered as a loving, caring, compassionate man and loyal friend to so many.
Glenn was born in Wayne County to Ed Brown of Pikeville and Sallie Mae Stallings Brown of Goldsboro. He was a graduate of Elon College and was a member of Antioch Free Will Baptist Church. Glenn had worked in the tobacco industry before his declining health.
A celebration of the gift of his life and God's love will be Thursday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The family will be receiving friends Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of his parents, Sallie Mae Brown, Ed and Linda Brown and his brother, Chris and Whitney Brown.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Chris Brown and wife, Whitney, of Goldsboro; his stepmother, Linda Brown of Pikeville; his mother-in-law, Mama Pat of Charlottesville, Va.; his stepsister, Bonnie Moore; his stepbrother, Tim Moore; and a most amazing cousin, Jay Vail of Pikeville. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends that understood the true meaning of friendship.
With Glenn's tireless commitment to help children, the family asks that memorials be given to Duke Children's Hospital, 3643 N. Roxboro Road, Durham, N.C. 27704 or to Camp Holiday Trails, (Camp for Kids with terminal and severe illnesses), 400 Holiday Trails Lane, Charlottesville, Va. 22901.
