MARY Y. TAYLOR

Mary Yelverton Taylor, 88, of 202 S. Harding Drive, passed away Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Stantonsburg Cemetery. The Rev. Glenn Everett will officiate.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Wayne County on April 7, 1919, to the late Samuel Robert and Margaret Cox Yelverton.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Taylor of the home, Nan Wilkins and her husband, Joe, of Grantham; three brothers, Richard Yelverton and his wife, Bobbie, of Patetown, George Yelverton and his wife, Kay, of Fremont, John E. Yelverton and his wife, Ruth, of Stantonsburg; one sister, Margaret Siegel of Goldsboro; two grandchildren, Jeff Wilkins and his wife, Kim, of Arlington, Va., Cindy Sasser and her husband, Bill, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel P. Taylor.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Daniels Memorial Methodist Church, 2803 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
