EVELYN W. GODWIN

Evelyn W. Godwin, 81, of the Belfast community, died Wednesday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Evelyn was born in Wayne County to the late Stephen Grady West and Victoria Futrell West. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Evelyn was a charter member of the Belfast Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Bartlett and the Rev. T.C. West officiating. Interment will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Godwin Family Cemetery.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, William Edward "Shorty" Godwin; her sons, Eddie Godwin and wife, Ann, of Goldsboro, and Randy Godwin and wife, Patricia, of Goldsboro; her daughter-in-law, Judy Godwin of Golds-boro; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steve Godwin.
The family will receive friends Friday following the funeral service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home, 151 Belfast Road, Goldsboro.
