LUCY A. WEAVER

SMITHFIELD -- Lucy Allen Weaver, 83, died Wednesday afternoon in Smithfield Manor. Born in Johnston County to the late Troy and Lucy Allen she was the widow of E. Frank Weaver Jr. who died in 1999. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mozelle Mason. Lucy was a member of the World Wide Church of God and was a retired supervisor with the Jerold Corporation in Smithfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the Rev. Don Mason, the Rev. Neal Wingfield and the Rev. Jason Hurt officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A committal service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the mausoleum in Sunset Memorial Park.

Surviving are her son, E. Frank Weaver III and wife, Rhonda, of Fayetteville; daughter, Paulette Ricks of Smithfield; sister, Jean Allen of Smithfield; grandchildren, Tony Weaver and Brooke Weaver of Fayetteville, Dana Johnson and husband, Anthony, of Smithfield; great-grandchildren, Lari Johnson, Lindsay Johnson and Michael Johnson, all of Smithfield; and several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Dia-betes Association -- Eastern North Carolina, 2418 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 206, Raleigh, N.C. 27607.
