CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Alice Marie Jones Capps, 86, formerly of Goldsboro, died Sunday at Magnolia Manor in Charleston, S.C. Alice was born in Wayne County to the late Herman Jones and Clyde Summerlin Jones. She was married to the late Donovan Bennett. Alice was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Carraway officiating. Burial will follow in the Summerlin Cemetery.
Alice is survived by her sons, Donovan E. Bennett and wife, Margaret, of Charleston, S.C. and C.M. Cordell of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Ronnie Jones, Jeff Jones, Todd Jones, Ryan Kelly, Micah J. Kelly, Becky Cordell and Jennifer Cordell; and her cousin, Sadie Adams of Goldsboro.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley R. Jones.
The family will receive friends Friday at Seymour Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.
