THURSTON R. GRANT
May 31, 1925 - Nov. 8, 2007
Thurston Reed Grant, 82, affectionately known as "T.R." of 4817 U.S. Hwy. 70 E., died Thursday at Craven Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Grant was born in Wayne County to the late Ben F. and Mary Olivia Dawson Grant. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II as an Aviation Electrician's Mate and was a retired sales associate with John Deere. Mr. Grant was a licensed private pilot.
Mr. Grant is survived by his wife of 48 years, Menville Hinnant Grant; daughter, Carol Coddington and husband, Les of New Bern; two grand-children, Bradley Reed and Olivia Claire Coddington; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends today from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, LaGrange. A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Alan Lamm officiating.
