Joseph Lawrence Mathews, 96, died Friday at Sunbridge of Mount Olive. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Walter Jerome and Irene Peterson Mathews.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Willowdale Cemetery.
Family members will greet friends Sunday from 3 until 4 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
