MOLLIE EDMUNDSON KIRBY

Mollie Edmundson Kirby, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher and friend, died on Oct. 28, 2007.

Mrs. Kirby was born in Wayne County, daughter of the late Burrell and Bessie Lancaster Edmundson. She graduated from Pikeville High School and from the Woman's College of North Carolina at Greensboro. She became a teacher and taught at Grantham and Eureka schools for 33 years. She was a lifelong member of Antioch Free Will Baptist Church and served as church treasurer for over 30 years.

Mrs. Kirby is survived by her daughter, Sandra Kirby Ingram, and son-in-law, J. R. Ingram; two grandchildren, Betsy Ingram Jenkins, and husband, Jason Jenkins, and David Burrell Ingram of Raleigh; one great-grandson, James Austin Jenkins of Raleigh; two brothers, Henry Edmundson and wife, Joanne, and Roscoe Edmundson and wife, Clara, of Pikeville; four sisters, Lawlos Bland of Orlando, Fla., Atha Tunnell of Hertford, Bertha Davis of Fremont and Ruth Hokum of Swansboro; and by many loved nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Kirby; parents, Burrell and Bessie Edmundson; brother and sister-in-law; Jim and Elma Edmundson; brother, B. J. Edmundson; sister and brother-in-law, La Dell and Charles Shackelford.

Receiving for family and friends will be held at Seymour Funeral Home, Goldsboro, N.C. at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007. Funeral services will commence at 2 p.m. with interment in the Musgrave Cemetery to follow.
