WOODROW P. ELMORE

Died Oct. 21, 2007

Woodrow Preston Elmore, 90, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late J. Frank and Julia Kennedy Elmore and the widower of Esther Pelt Elmore. Mr. Elmore served his country in the Merchant Marines during World War II.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rex Evans officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Park.

Surviving are his daughters, Frances Minshew of Goldsboro, Julia Anders and husband, Donnell Anders, of Dudley, and Joyce Snipes and husband, Charles N. Snipes, of Goldsboro. He is also survived by sisters, Hattie Lou Futrell of Goldsboro and Mollie Tart of Rosewood; brother, Patrick Elmore of Chatsworth, Ga.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to Faith Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 1200 W. Grantham St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service and other times at the residence of Charles and Joyce Snipes, 204 Lake Ridge Drive, Goldsboro.
