ALLEN T. GRAY

WINSTON SALEM -- Allen Thurman Gray, 83, passed away Sunday at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Wayne County, N.C. to the late Walter S. and Mary Grantham Gray. Mr. Gray was a member at Immanuel-New Eden Moravian Church and retired from Piedmont Airlines as a dispatcher. He served in the U.S. Navy toward the end of WWII. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Malvine Gray; five children, Patsy Prescott and husband, Ben, of Lexington, Peggy Gray and husband, Bob Watts, of Winston-Salem, Eddie and Glen Gray, both of LaGrange, N.C. and Walter Gray of San Antonio, Texas; grandson, Brian Prescott and wife, Shannon; granddaughter, Shannon Prescott; and a great-grandchild, Chelsea Prescott.
A funeral service will be conducted 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Robert M. Peek Sr. and the Rev. Norwood Green officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
