William Russell Suggs, 65, of 705 E. Walnut St., died Tuesday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville. He was born in Wayne County and was preceded in death by his mother, Lydia Washington Carmichael and father, John Suggs.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Bettie Gregory Suggs of Goldsboro, N.C.; three sons, Michael Gregory and wife, Vera, of Dudley, N.C.; Manuel Suggs and wife, Carrie, and Ramel Suggs, all of Goldsboro, N.C.; one daughter; Michelle Gardner and husband, Robert, of Goldsboro, N.C.; three sisters, Veronica Carmichael of Goldsboro, N.C., Rematha Brown and Hilda Middleton and husband, Emmanuel, of Philadelphia, Pa.; two brothers, Charles Carmichael of Philadelphia, Pa., Kenneth Carmichael and wife, Yana, of Pikeville, N.C.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Greenleaf Christian Disciples of Christ Church, 2110 N. William St., Goldsboro, N.C., at 2 p.m. Eulogy by Daniel Uzzell, pastor of Wave of Glory Faith Center, Goldsboro, N.C. Following the service, interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Goldsboro, N.C. A viewing will be conducted on Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C.
