NELL IRENE HOLLOWELL

Nell Irene Hollowell, 93, died Saturday morning at Britthaven Nursing Home.
Nell was born in the Smith Chapel Community of Wayne County on Oct. 31, 1913, to the late Herman F. and Mary Hood Hollowell. She devoted her entire life to caring for others. Nell was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jean Hood officiating.
Nell is survived by her nephew and niece-in-law, Charles R. and Sallie Southerland of Goldsboro; and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Azile H. Southerland and Maxine Hollowell.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1608 E. Pine St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27530 or the charity of one's choice.
The family will greet friends Monday following the service at the graveside. Miss Hollowell will lie in state Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
