Joseph Hubert Thompson, 80, of Lucama, died Saturday at the North Carolina Special Care Center in Wilson.
Mr. Thompson was born in Johnston County on July 25, 1927. He was the son of the late Herbert and Sophia Guinn Thompson.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at White Oak Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his brothers Leonard Thompson of Fayetteville and Kenneth Thompson of Naples, Fla.; his sisters, Marie Thompson of Raleigh, Katie Belle Edelen of Florida, and Beadie Wheeler of Pikeville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sophia Collier, and his brother, Linwood Earl Thompson.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Seymour Funeral Home.
