KENNETH EDWARD FISHER

Kenneth Edward Fisher, 61, of 406 Brightseat Road, Landover, Md., formerly of Mount Olive, died Aug. 20 at his home.

He is the son of the late Cicero and Goldia Brooks Fisher. Kenneth was educated in the Duplin County school system and served three years in the United States Army. After his tenure in the Army, he worked for the federal government for over 30 years. This service included working in the General Services Administration as a special police officer and retiring as an operating engineer.

Mr. Fisher is survived by his wife, Margaret Fisher; a son, DeNelson vonShelly; and his siblings, Celestine, Delores, Jacqueline, Deborah, Gary and David.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with minister Florene Branch officiating. Burial will follow in the Carver Cemetery.

Viewing will be held today from 5-7 p.m. from the Garris Funeral Home Chapel.
