Mrs. Naomi Huffman Polter, 89, went to be with her Lord on Saturday at her home surrounded by her family.

Naomi was born in Wayne County to the late Lloyd C. Huffman and Esther McCullen Huffman. She was married to the late William M. Polter and was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Rosa Mae and Betty Lou. Naomi was a member of Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 54.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Doug Johnson and the Rev. Glenn Everett officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Naomi is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Street and her husband, Wayne, of Pikeville and Janice Coons and her husband, Jerry; her grandchildren, Jeffrey H. Eaton and wife, Summer, of Wichita, Kansas, and Angela R. Williams of Raleigh; her great-grandchildren, Willow Sage Eaton and Meadow Blue Eaton of Wichita, Kansas; and her sisters, Helen H. Sauls of Fremont, Esther H. Howell of Pikeville and Dolly H. Best of Mebane.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.

Naomi will be remembered as a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A deeply religious woman, her spirit and love nurtured her family and community and her eternal faith, optimism, strength and perseverance throughout times of joy and adversity continue to inspire all who knew her.
