ELEANOR E. PEACOCK

July 17, 1938-July 11, 2007

Eleanor "Esso"lene Holmes Peacock, age 68, died Wednesday at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation of Mount Olive. Born in Duplin County, she was the daughter of the late Ed "Pa" and Mary Lanier Foster and the wife of the late Morris Leonard Holmes. She was a member of the Delway Rescue Squad and a volunteer EMT.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Warsaw Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Wayne Ezzell officiating.

She is survived by four daughters, Eleanor Diane Caine of Clinton, Janice Elaine Asbill of Dudley, Linda Ruth Holmes of Clinton and Amanda Lorie Singley of Florida; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Frank and Kenneth Holmes; a granddaughter, April Asbill; and a great-granddaughter, Brianna Asbill.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Janice Asbill, 109 Fox Drive, Dudley, N.C.
