HILDEGARD S. WHITMAN
March 22, 1918-July 10, 2007
MOUNT OLIVE -- Hildegard Steiner Whitman, 89, died Tuesday at her home at 105 Stephen Street. She was a native of Kapfenberg, Austria, and was a retired nursing assistant. She is the widow of Joseph A. Whitman.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tyndall Funeral Home. Mrs. Johnnie Rose Boyette will conduct the service. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
She is survived by four sons, Gurnther Staude and wife, Christal, of Gmunden, Austria, Peter Staude and wife, Terri, of Prairieville, La., Dennis Whitman of the home and Darby Whitman of Seven Springs; a daughter, Erika Griffin and husband, Gene, of Crossville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Lizzie Whitman of Mount Olive, along with the Junius Whitman family.
A son, Heinz Staude, also preceded her in death as did her parents, Johann and Paula Geiersberger.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m., and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to the local unit of the American Cancer Society.
