ROCKY MOUNT -- Lillian Lynda Leggett Parrish passed away quietly at home with her family at her side on Sunday morning, July 1, 2007. She was born in Beaufort County Dec. 22, 1931, to the late Woodson and Lillian Campbell Leggett of the Old Ford Community of Washington, N.C.

Mrs. Parrish was a retired registered nurse, having graduated from the Lenoir Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Kinston in 1953. She worked in several different nursing positions around the state of North Carolina, moving with her late husband, N.C. Highway Patrol First Sergeant, Wesley D. Parrish.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn Parrish and Pete Bradshaw of Rocky Mount; and her grandson, Wesley Bradshaw, also of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by her friend, Brad Baker of Rocky Mount.

A funeral will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. followed by a visitation at the Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, with the Revs. James Alley, William V. Grisham and Dr. Carleton McKita officiating. A graveside service and burial will be held on Wednesday at Oakdale Cemetery at 11 a.m. in Washington.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Hospice, c/o Nash General Hospital, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount, N.C. 27804.
