DORIS M. SHIPTON
March 30, 1935-June 13, 2007
Doris Mason Bridgers Shipton, 72, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday at her home in Lugoff, S.C.
She was born in Wayne County to the late Bert and Esther Etheridge Mason and was married to Donald Shipton.
While living in Goldsboro, she worked as a floral designer for several local florists.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Ryan.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Coppock will be officiating. Family members will be receiving friends immediately following the memorial service.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Allen and Becky Bridgers of Dudley; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Kimberley and Robert Hoffman of Sharon, S.C.; three brothers, John Mason of Princeton and Roy Mason and Paul Mason, both of Goldsboro; two sisters, Geraldine Barfield of Goldsboro and Viola Pate of Kinston; two grandchildren, Brandi Talton and Robert Allen Bridgers Jr.; and one step-granddaughter, Kasey Hoffman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 930 B. Wellness Dr., Greenville N.C. 27834.
