CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Irvin "Ike" William Cobb died Saturday at Hospice Center of Charleston. He was born in Seven Springs, N.C. He and his wife, Louise Culbreth Cobb lived in Goldsboro until 1955, in Charlotte until 1997 and then moved to Charleston. Louise predeceased him in 2002. He attended Seven Springs High School and Wake Forest University and worked for many years as an engineer for Diamond Power Company.

He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Cobb Terranova of Charleston and Linda Hughs of Emerald Isle, N.C.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside interment service at Charlotte Memorial Gardens 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2007. Reception for friends and family will follow.

In lieu of flowers please send donation in his name to Hospice of Charleston.
