LANEY A. BENSON
DUDLEY -- Laney Andrew Benson, age 81, of Colonel Warrick Road, passed away Thursday morning, May 10, 2007 at home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 11, 2007 at 7 p.m. at Emmanuel FWB Church where he was a member. Pastor Wayne Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mr. Benson was born in Duplin County on January 27, 1926 to the late Willie Robert Benson and Minnie Brock Benson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norma P. Benson; a son, Laney Andrew Benson Jr.; three daughters, Sharon Schofill, Cheryl Dodson and Kimberly McArthur; two sisters, Lucy Benson and Mildred Gurley; and six grandchildren, Katrina Schofill, Andy Baxley, Timothy and Hannah McArthur, and Drew and Jordan Benson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Emmanuel FWB Church, 5975 Hwy 70 East, La Grange, N.C. 28551 or to the American Cancer Society.
