STELLA S. SUTTON

FAISON -- Stella Swinson Sutton, 85, 426 S. Faison Ave., died Sunday at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation for Mount Olive.

She was a retired waitress and a member of Faison Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher, a member of the choir, a past deaconess, and member of the church's Women's Missionary Union of which she had been past president.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. from the Tyndall Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Olive with the Rev. J. Paul Rose officiating. Burial will be in the Faison Cemetery, Faison. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday before the service for one hour, and at other times at the residence in Faison.

Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. Sutton; parents, James A. "Jim" and Rossie Wrenn Swinson; sisters, Sallie S. Brock and Louise S. Davis; and brothers, A. D. Swinson, Weldon "Pete" Swinson, Ulysses Swinson and Elmer Swinson.

She is survived by a son, Gerald Sutton and his wife, Jeri, of Hampton, Va.; daughters, Brenda S. Herring and husband, Michael, of Winterville, and Joanne S. Jones of Faison; sister, Annie Laura S. Myers of Mount Olive; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
