GRIFTON -- Janice Raynor Tedder, 70, 621 Casey Drive, died Saturday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Johnston County to the late Cap and Tempie Coats Raynor. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gordon Wayne Tedder and two brothers, Lawden and David Raynor. She retired from DuPont after 32 years of service and was a member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). She enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener. She also enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a big Duke fan.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Casey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Britt officiating. Burial will follow in the Overbee Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Capps; son, James Tedder of Farmville; daughters, Melanie T. Arnold of Chocowinity, Jewell T. Grimes and husband, Joe, of Grifton; four grandchildren, Monica A. Tucker and husband, Andy, James Dewey Tedder III, Joseph Adam Grimes, Justin Wayne Grimes.

Although flowers are welcomed, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Casey Funeral Home, Princeton.
