Kendall Edward "Ken" Barfield, 43, died Thursday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
He was born in Wayne County to Melvin Edward Barfield of Seven Springs and the late Ida Blizzard Barfield.
Funeral will be 6 p.m. today at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Randall Barfield and Warren Barfield officiating.
Interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Tom Dorman officiating.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepmother, Mary Lou Barfield; his sisters, Chalady Barfield of Seven Springs, Kathy Radcliff of Rosewood and Vickie McLamb of Garner; his brother, Dusty Barfield of Seven Springs; two nieces; one nephew; and several aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to help with expenses.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
