HAVELOCK -- Rosa Gray Smith, 82, died Monday at Craven Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Newport River Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Marcellus Smith; brothers, Joe and Mason Gray; sister, Ann Roper.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Pollock-Best Funeral Chapel, 2105 Neuse Blvd., New Bern, with interment following at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Marcell Strunk and husband, Charles, of Havelock, Helen Chase and husband, Howard, of Snow Hill; brothers, Joe and Mason Gray, both of Havelock; sisters, Mildred Kauka of Ontario, Calif., Hazel Oliver of Havelock, Mary Taylor and Frances Carter, both of Hubert, Ruby Daniels of Goldsboro, Ruth Clark of Newport; grandchildren, Carrie Strunk, Stacey and Tracey Chase; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ashleigh and Brianne Chase, Charles, Micheal and Cera Finney.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Pollock-Best Funeral Home.
