Maggie Mae Monk, 62, 404 Lime St., died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Wayne County and was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Battle Sr. and Maggie Crawford; sister, Betty Smith; and brother, Thomas Battle Jr.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McIntyre Funeral Home Chapel, 900 S. George St., with pastor Ronnie Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mill Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Percy Monk Jr., of the home; son, Wilbert Griffin of Goldsboro; daughters, Sharon Battle and Lisa Thompson, both of Goldsboro, and Natasha Stewart of Capital Heights, Md.; brothers, Willie Crawford, Emanuel Battle, Jerry Crawford, all of Goldsboro; sisters, Ruby Outlaw, Diane Bynum, Edna Whitfield, Teresa Faison and Sherry Lee, all of Goldsboro, Shirley Williams of Bronx, N.Y., Joyce Crawford and Wilimina Malone, both of Washington, D.C., and Clarisa Crawford of Temple Hills, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Friday at McIntyre Funeral Home from 2 to 6 p.m.
