LESTER M. HINTON

ZEBULON -- Lester Marvin Hinton, 76, 307 Hinton St., died Sunday. Born in Johnston County, a son of the late Marvin and Christine Whitley Hinton. He was a retired plumber and a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Hinton; sister, Joan Carroll; brothers, Billy, Charles and Marion Hinton.
Funeral service was 7 p.m. Monday at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, Wendell. Burial will be 10 a.m. today at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah W. Hinton; son, Dennis M. Hinton and wife, Beth, of Zebulon; three grandchildren; brothers, Doug Hinton of Zebulon and Bobby Hinton of Middlesex; sisters, Carol Creech of Middlesex and Jean Hawley of Pikeville.
Family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home.
