ROSE HILL -- Helen Stevens Merritt, 89, formerly of 518 Merritt Road, died Monday at Golden Care of Wallace. She is the wife of the late Alvin Carroll Merritt.
Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Community Funeral Home Chapel followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Oak Plain Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughters, Alice Whaley of Rose Hill and Carla M. Carter of Goldsboro; sister, Marion Bechtel of Kankakee, Ill.; four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Zion Presbysterian Church, 129 E. Main St., Rose Hill, N.C. 28458.
