PRINCETON -- Grace Wiggs Howell, 81, 331 Lassiter Road, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was born in Johnston County and was the daughter of the late James Hubert and Ophelia Braswell Wiggs. She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Howell and a grandson, James Richard Howell Jr. Mrs. Howell was a member of the Antioch Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Casey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lewis Baker officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws, Freddie and Patricia Howell of Selma, Danny and Peggy Howell of Princeton, Richard and Lena Howell of Princeton; brothers, Ed Wiggs of Nahunta, Leamon Wiggs of Goldsboro; sister, Clara Belle Barnes of Conover; grandchildren, Dan Howell, Becky Hare and husband, Landon, Brenda McCullen and husband, Ricky, Tammy Howell Talton and husband, Chad, James Tyler Howell, Jessica Alleen Henson, Kari Ann McCallister, Jamie Penny, Raymond Howell and friend, Shownell, C.G. Howell, Melodi Thrift and husband, Trent, Edie Michael, Gina Lowery and husband, Chris, D'Ann Michael and friend, Hank; great-grandchildren, Aidan McCullen, Ashleigh Hare, Elaine Howell, Daniel Talton, McKinsey Howell, Austin Brown, Nathan Penny. Brittany and Patricia McCallister, Coleton Howell, Kade Ezzell, Jimmy Worrells, Lars and Erik Thrift.

Pallbearers will be Dan, C.G., and Raymond Howell, Landon Hare, Ricky McCullen and Jason Talton.

Family will receive friends at the home of Danny and Peggy Howell, 313 Lassiter Road, Princeton, and tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home, Princeton.
