Funeral services for Benjamin Andrew Blackmon, 88, 815 Darby Ave., who died Saturday at his home will be 1 p.m. Friday at Gethsemane Seventh-Day Adventist Church with pastor Richard Mercer officiating. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
He is survived by daughters, Lois C. Blackmon Dawson and Della Leach, both of Kinston; sons, Benjamin Andrew Blackmon Jr. of Kinston and Raymond Leach of Fayetteville; sisters, Ruby M. McGee of Kinston, Mary Elizabeth Davis of Newark, N.J., Bessie Davis and Ruth Hart, both of Goldsboro, Ethel L. Lofton of LaGrange, Christine M. Everett of Greensboro; brothers, Lannie Williams Jr. of LaGrange and Perry Willliams of Dudley; seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be today from 2 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel and from 7 to 8 p.m. at Holly Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Family will be receiving friends at the home of Ruby M. McGee, 1000 Liberty Hill Road.
Albritton-Carraway Funeral Home, Kinston, is handling the arrangements.
