EDNA S. WHITE

Aug. 21,1917-March 18, 2007

KINSTON -- Edna Mae Sutton White, died Sunday. Edna was born the first child to Fannie Pollock and Hugh Ivy Sutton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lovit Hines White; brothers, A.J. Sutton and Hugh Ivy Sutton, Jr.; sisters, Frances Sutton Bailey and Sara Sutton Rowlette.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. H.C. "Buddy" Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

As a member of Wheat Swamp Christian Church, she taught Sunday School and was an active member of the CWF and Joy Club.

She is survived by her children, Lovit "Junior" White of Mebourne, Fla., Edward Ivy White and wife, Evelyn, and Linda White Byrd, all of Kinston; brother-in-law, John Rowlette of Port Angeles, Wash.; grandchildren, Melonie Garris, Alan and Warren Glenn, Joy and Lovit White, Sonya Hinsdale, Monica Currin, Janine Summerlin, Lynn Whaley, Jim Daughety and Leigh Corbin; 16 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; along with a very special caregiver, B.J. Anglero.

Family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home of Linda Byrd, 2501 Forrest Drive, Kinston.
