LAGRANGE -- Doris Rose Bryan Emerson, 71, 4052 Ben Dail Road, died Sunday at her home. Mrs. Emerson was born in Craven County to the late Clinton Wayne and Doris Buck Bryan. She was retired from the Lenoir County school system with 30 years of service and was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. from St. Mary's Episcopal Church with Father Michael Singer officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, William Preston Emerson; children, Karen Emerson of Cedar Point, Michael Preston Emerson of LaGrange and Claudia Dail and husband, Jeff, of New Bern; sisters, Kay Jernigan of New Bern and Cleo Thomasson of Rock Hill, S.C.
