JIMMY L. HOWELL

MILLERS CREEK --Jimmy Lamont Howell, 65, died Sunday at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Howell was born in Wayne County to Jimmie and Annie Edwards Howell. He was a graduate of Nahunta High School and retired from the Wilkes County School System after teaching for 34 years in the N.C. Public Schools.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Pfafftown, with the Rev. Dick Patzfahl and the Rev. Josh Howell officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Mott and a brother, Rudolph Howell.

He is survived by his wife, Cherry Long Howell of the home; two sons, Jeremy Howell of Pfafftown and the Rev. Josh Howell of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Margaret Horne of Raleigh and Joyce Aycock of Wallace; one brother, Johnnie Howell of Pikeville; four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in North Wilkesboro from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in memory of Jimmy Howell, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, 2007 Cheshire Lane, Houston, Texas 77018.
